Please note – this walk is liable to be very muddy for most of its course, so please come in suitable footwear.

Come along for a Spring Walk (approx 4 miles) and see if you can spot some real Easter Bunnies along the way!!!!

The Walk starts on the Village green at the picturesque village of Airton, we’ll then head down a country lane for a few hundred yards until we reach the river. We’ll then walk along the banks of the infant river Aire, following the Pennine Way for a couple of miles till we reach Hanlith Bridge. After crossing the bridge, we’ll follow a trackway leading to an old mill now converted into a row of cottages. At the back of the cottages, we’ll walk alongside an old Goit (A small artificial channel carrying water, built to feed mills). Which if we are lucky it’ll be filled with, frogs, toads, newts and frogspawn and we’ll able to spot them amongst the pondweed. From here the path will take us through a series of fields and on the way we’ll pass Aire Head, where the river Aire emerges above ground again after flowing underground from Malham Tarn a couple or so miles away. We’ll then follow Malham beck into the village of Malham.

You have an option then to catch the 2.50pm 864 bus to Skipton which connects to the 3.30pm 873 bus to Ilkley and this in turn connects to a train to Burley In Wharfedale, Baildon, Shipley & Bradford.
