The Yorkshire Dales Strollers

Event

A new Walking Group using the Dales Bus network to discover the hidden Gems of The Yorkshire Dales. This is a 4 mile walk.

Getting there – Catch the 864 Malham Bus from:

  • Burley In Wharfedale @ 9.58am
  • Ilkley Bus Station @10.10am (the walk leader Muppett will join the bus here)
  • Or meet in the National Park Car Park in Malham at 11.20am

The walk follows a path out of the Village through a series of Fields and into woodland (the path becomes uneven here) and leads to the Waterfall known as Janet’s Foss. From here there is a little scramble up onto the path and Road. Here We’ll take a little diversion to walk through the fields (level) to look at Gordale Scar. We’ll then retrace our steps to the roadside mobile café and then follow a path that gradually climbs up the hillside. We follow the path then for about ½ mile or so till we reach a road. From here We’ll follow the road as it climbs down the hillside back into Malham and the end of the walk.

You have an option then to catch the 2.50pm 864 bus to Skipton Which Connects to the 3.30pm 873 bus to Ilkley and this in turn Connects to a train to Burley In Wharfedale, Baildon, Shipley & Bradford.

Alternatively you can enjoy the cafés and pubs or explore the area further and catch the 4.40pm 864 Bus that Heads back to Bradford.
