Otley to Weston Stone Garden Summer Festival Walk- Burley Walkers are Welcome
This is a special opportunity to visit the stone garden created by local art collector Ronnie Duncan. Developed over twenty years, the various sculptures and creations commissioned by Ronnie are intended to subordinate horticulture to stone (although there is also an occasional plant). There will also be an opportunity to talk with Ronnie about his impressive art collection. The walk from Otley to Weston via Clifton will be on field paths, tracks and lanes, returning via meadows to Weston Lane. We aim to be back in Otley by 4 pm. Please bring a picnic lunch to have in the garden with enough to drink. No dogs please.
Cost: £1 for a copy of the garden guide. A donation to the Ronnie Duncan Art Foundation which supports new artists and artistic developments would be welcome

W.E. Forster Summer Festival Walk- Burley Walkers are Welcome
William E. Forster is perhaps one of Burley’s most well-known residents. He made a lasting impact on how the village prospered and developed in the late 19th Century. He was also an influential politician both nationally and internationally. The walking route will pass many of the buildings that form part of Forster’s local legacy, including Wharfeside, the home he built, the Queen’s Hall and Greenholme Mill before finishing at his grave at God’s Acre, Bradford Road. En route we will hear about his life and achievements on both the local and national stage. The walk will be at a leisurely pace along lanes, tracks and roadside paths.
