Free Adult Cycling Lessons

The Ilkley Active Travel Hub works with Capital of Cycling to provide free adult cycling lessons in Ilkley.

Capital of Cycling is a Bradford based charity that works to encourage more people to take up cycling across the district. They offer maintenance training, cycling training, bike recycling and lots more.

There are two types of cycling lessons that they provide for the people of Ilkley:

  • Beginner’s Cycling Lessons (level 1): for anyone that wants to learn or hasn’t got on a bike since they first learned
  • On-Road Cycling Lessons (level 2): for people who are confident cyclists and would like to develop the skills required for cycling in traffic.

The lessons are taught by a trained cycling instructor who will work with you to pace the sessions to meet your needs. The lessons are taught in small groups with a maximum of 4 people attending.

Bikes and helmets are provided for free and the lessons take place at the Ilkley Rugby Club ground.

Our next lesson taking place is an On-Road Lesson and that takes place on Sunday 21st July at 2pm.

You need to sign up to secure your place, so sign-up here>
