Greenway Adventures
This just in from Friends of Wharfedale Greenway– something fabulous to do with the kids this summer…
“Not sure what to do with the kids over the summer holidays? Want them off their screens and moving? Or just want a nice walk/cycle or wheel? Go visit a Greenway and fill in our feedback form for a chance to win a prize. Visit as many as you like!
Greenways offer the perfect place for varied groups to travel, a small scooting toddler can wheel next to their uncle with a mobility aid and meet up with Mum who’s gone for a buggy run in front whilst the teen Tic Tok’s at a location his friends have never seen.
Pre-teens who love a selfie might really enjoy collecting photos of all the planets in the York solar system or old railway bridges along a route.
Teens who Tic Tok could make reels their friends just don’t have: art installations, 2m waterfalls, time lapse bike rides, temperate rainforest, railway line bridges, optical illusion shots, massive viaducts and huge waterfalls. Tag us in them and we will share them on!
And then don’t forget to visit the local towns and villages for a quick refreshment and maybe a play in a local park.
Fill in our feedback form for a chance to win a prize and share your adventures for us to share them with our followers!
How It Works:
Explore: Lace up your walking shoes, hop on your bike, grab your mobility aid or saddle up your trusty steed and venture out onto Greenways. Capture moments that resonate with you—the play of sunlight through leaves, the winding river, artistic additions or the joy of fellow travellers.
Snap: Take stunning photos along these Greenways and trails you visit this summer. Whether it’s a serene landscape, some local art, a quirky signpost, or a friendly encounter with wildlife, let your lens tell the story.
Share: Post your pictures and tag us in them using social media and/or complete our our feedback form explaining what you enjoyed on your travels, for a chance to win a £30 Go Outdoors voucher. #wharfedalegreenway
Repeat: Visit as many Greenways and trails as you wish and keep snapping. The more the merrier!”
