Lots of local walking groups run regular social walks and are delighted to welcome newcomers through the Active Travel Hub project.
You can find out more about their walk programmes on their websites below or by emailing the contact. Please let them know you plan to join one of their walks and they will be ready to welcome you.

The Ilkley Active Travel Hub now runs its own Beginners' Walk Club. We're running it with Alpkit (where the walk starts) and it's an easy pace walk around the river that ends with a hot drink and cake back at the store. We see the walk as a great way to help people get active and to also socialise. It's open to anyone, but especially for those that may need to take activities gently and/or have low social health.
It takes place on the first Friday of the month and It's free. Anyone that is interested needs to book a place on Alpkit's Eventbrite page, or you can find it via our Events page. You just need to scroll and find the next Beginners Walk Club taking place and click on it.
